Papo is a private family-owned French company that was established in the late 1990's with subsidiaries in Germany, the UK and in the US. The company produced its first two figures in 1997.

Its large collection of finely detailed models are designed, developed, and hand painted in France by French artists.  Their extensive catalogue of more than 600 figurines include dinosaurs, fairy tales and legends, fantasy, farm animals, galactic figures, horses, knights, pirates, historical characters, and wild animals.

Papo's products are safe and very popular. Their main target group are children 3 to 8 years of age, although older children and adults also collect them. Of particular interest are the figures of dinosaurs, which are designed with extraordinary detail. In fact, their bestselling models are its dinosaurs, horses, and knights.  

Nearly 60% of their sales are to customers overseas where their products can be found almost everywhere throughout the world.
